Today we finished the Module A summative and we moved onto Module B - which covers all operations of fractions. The pre-test showed that the students have some knowledge of adding/subtracting fractions so we reviewed that today and we will then move onto multiplication on Wednesday. The new Odyssey folder will be up for Module B on Wednesday.

Complete only Worbook page 0-5 pg 10 all - anyone in first period pass on the information.

Today, "A" day, the students took their test on our first Module involving decimals. Please check the grade portal for the grade. A handful of students did not finish so if there is no grade, they did not finish. I am still in the process of grading 3rd period.

Attention Parents: Progress reports go out Friday, however they will not have either A day students' or B day students' test grades. So depending on their test grade, your child's grade may change and this grade will reflect more of what they are comprehending in class.

The only homework is Odyssey: work on Big Idea I until I add the new folder.

Today we reviewed for the test by correcting the baseline test, as well as going over their homework. Students should be studying for their first test on Thursday (A day students).
Homework: A day: complete Practice Test pg 80 on the online book. Every student logged into the online book and accessed pg 80 so there should not be any confusion.

B-Day students - just a friendly reminder that your test is tomorrow. So you should be studying and preparing. Also, complete the whole study guide through the online book pgs 68-71. It is a good review.

Parents: Please make sure your child is showing all of their work in an organized and neat manner. I am trying to "Be Proactive" and teach them good study and work habits now, so later they will be self sufficient and well organized. Thank you in advance for your support.

Study for test

Today we worked on dividing decimals by a decimal. Students then practiced within their groups. Students also worked on correcting their pretest on this unit.

Homework - "A day" students - complete 1-2E pg 22 odds only. Due Friday.

Today was the last day of Benchmark testing. We will be back to normal tomorrow. "A" day students we will continue with dividing decimals, and "B" day students we will continue with all operations of integers. Both A day and B day students expect your unit test next week. I will notify you in class when the date will be.

Attention Parents: The grade portal is up to date. Please check it often to see how your child is doing. As of right now, we have had 2 hw/cw assignments and 1 Odyssey assignment. So if your child has done all they have a 100%. Just note that the test next week will show your child's understanding of the topics being taught in class. This test will affect their grade as well. Hopefully I will have the grade in prior to progress reports, however it may be after the fact.

As always, check your child's planner often.

The first assignment on Odyssey is now due. You have until midnight tonight (Monday) in order to finish all the lessons in the folder assigned to you on August 26th.

Grades are entered for the students who have finished. In order to get full credit, all the assignments within the folder are complete with a 70% of higher mastery. If you want to see if your child has finished their assignment, go into the grade portal. If there is no grade, they have not finished yet. If you do not have grade portal, have them log into Odyssey and see if the folder titled above is still there, if it is there they have not finished, if it is not there, they have completed it.

Today, Friday, Monday and Tuesday we are taking the Duval County Benchmark. Session I this week and Session II next week. I checked homework, but we will not go over it until Wednesday of next week.

Make sure you are finishing up your Odyssey folders that have been assigned. My "A" day students are working on the "Decimal Review 11/12" folder and my "B" day students are working in the "Module A Integer" folder. Both of which are due on Monday 9/12. I have been giving the children daily updates on who has completed their folder and who is lagging behind, so the children are well aware of their status of completion.

Parents: Please check your child's planner often to make sure they are keeping up with their assignments, not just in math but other classes as well. Thank you all in advance for your support!!!!

Today was a busy day. We reviewed adding/subtracting decimals. Dug deeper into multiplying decimals. Corrected our first page of our baseline test, and worked on practice problems.
Homework - complete 1-1C pg 14 - odds only and 1-1E pg 16 odds only (workbook pages), also work on your Decimal Folder on Odyssey (due 9/12).
